Eleocharis pusilla is originally from Australia and New Zealand, where it occurs in wet locations with different water levels. It is grass-like with very thin leaf stems and grows to a maximum height of 5 cm. If the conditions are right, this plant forms a nice, dense carpet of grass, which can also be cut back without any problems, which is why it is particularly popular in aquascaping. For a compact and healthy growth, Eleocharis pusilla needs a sufficiently strong lighting and nutrient supply. In addition, slightly cooler water is preferred and persistent water temperatures above 26°C are not tolerated well.

Cryptocoryne parva is the smallest Cryptocoryne currently known. It usually needs more light than many other Cryptocoryne species. It grows slowly and has very narrow leaves. Cryptocoryne parva is planted in the ground with little spacing and develops a coherent and low carpet after a few months. Due to its slow growth, it is also very well suited for setting accents in the foreground when planted individually.
