With its almost artistically painted patterns, the Red Racer Nerite is a real beauty in the aquarium. The variable coloring with the unusual drawings make the animals a special eye-catcher.

In addition to their beauty, the snails are particularly good algae eaters (growth eaters) and food converters. Like other snails of their species, they keep the aquarium glass and hardscape clean without damaging aquatic plants. This makes them ideal for aquascapes and Dutch plant aquariums.

Since the animals do not require much space, they are ideally suited for nano aquariums. Ensure good water quality.

Reproduction in the aquarium has not yet been successful because the larvae only develop in brackish water. (In nature, the animals are found in fresh and brackish water)

The snails can sometimes get out of the aquarium to look for new puddles of water and also survive for some time in the dry. It is therefore advisable to make the tank escape-proof or to put the animals back into the aquarium if they try to escape.
