Tubifex belong to the natural food spectrum of many ornamental fish that search the bottom for food. The tubifex, which grow to a length of 15-85 mm, live in the soil and the blood pigment hemoglobin causes their red color as long as they live. The red color disappears during the freeze-drying process. In contrast to live and frozen food, there is no risk of introducing diseases or unwanted bacteria into the aquarium.

The JBL PRONOVO FEX "chunks" float on the water surface because of their buoyancy. The fish can bite off smaller chunks there. Alternatively, you can push the chunks in the water a little so that their buoyancy is reduced.

In order to expand the diet of ornamental fish, supplementing the main food with freeze-dried types of food is highly recommended. The following types of food are available for this purpose: JBL PRONOVO DAPH (water fleas), JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO (brine shrimp), JBL PRONOVO FEX (Tubifex), JBL PRONOVO FIL (red blood worms).
 

Food size/mouth size:
It may sound obvious, but it is important that the feed size matches the mouth size of the fish. Not all fish are able to bite off larger chunks of food. The fish size to which the food size fits is on all JBL food cans on the bottom left on the front of the label.
