Artemia salina is a small crab found in salt lakes around the world. It has the special property of laying eggs that can survive dry for about a year. When these eggs return to salt water, the young crabs (nauplii) hatch and grow into adult crabs that are 1.5 cm long. With the JBL Artemio range, JBL offers eggs and culture equipment for cultivating brine shrimp.
The JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO contains large, gently freeze-dried artemia shrimp. They are very popular with practically all types of fish and also have a high nutritional value. In contrast to live and frozen food, there is no risk of introducing diseases or unwanted bacteria into the aquarium. Draining salt water from living Artemia is also not necessary with freeze-dried Artemia.
The JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO "chunks" float on the water surface because of their buoyancy. The fish can bite off smaller chunks there. Alternatively, you can push the chunks in the water a little so that their buoyancy is reduced.
JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO is a very welcome change in the menu for both freshwater and saltwater fish.
JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO contains only large artemia shrimps that are freeze-dried in a vacuum, without additives or preservatives. This process preserves the valuable ingredients of the brine shrimp.
In order to expand the diet of ornamental fish, supplementing the main food with freeze-dried types of food is highly recommended. The following types of food are available for this purpose: JBL PRONOVO DAPH (daphnia), JBL PRONOVO ARTEMIO (brine shrimp), JBL PRONOVO FEX (Tubifex), JBL PRONOVO FIL (red blood worms).
