Micranthemum tweediei "Monte Carlo" (also known as "New Large Pearl Grass") is an easy-care plant that is ideal for use as a ground cover. A few years ago, the Monte Carlo was a rarity, which has since developed into one of the most popular plants in aquaristics. It grows creeping to overhanging and does not need too much light, which makes it a good alternative to Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba". Over time, the plant forms a dense carpet, which should be shortened regularly so that it does not run the risk of detaching from the substrate at some point.
