The neon green armored catfish originally comes from South America, where it is mainly found in rivers and streams with muddy bottom. This beautifully green and gold shimmering mailed catfish is a shoal fish that feels comfortable with at least 8 members of its own species and grows to about 7 cm in size. In the aquarium, which holds at least 54 - but preferably more - liters, it needs a fine, non-sharp substrate as well as sufficient hiding places in the form of plants and, for example, catfish caves, roots or stones. The neon green armored catfish is fairly easy to keep if these needs are met.
