Pogostemon helferi is a small and very decorative plant for the foreground to middle ground. It has been known for over 100 years, but it was not discovered as an aquatic plant until 1996. With its curled, narrow leaves, it becomes a real eye-catcher in the aquarium. It is one of the most popular plants in aquaristics. Its nickname "Daonoi" means "little water star."
