Native to North America, Hemianthus micranthemoides is a graceful plant whose small, cupped leaves make it look like a miniature version of Egeria. In intense light it has a creeping growth, allowing it to be used as a foreground plant (stems 10-20 cm high, 2-3 cm wide).

A compact group of Hemianthus micranthemoides is very pretty with its small light green leaves.

In terrariums, the plant forms a compact cushion. Formerly called Micranthemum micranthemoides.
