Alternanthera reineckii "Pink" originally comes from South America. The pink undersides of the leaves create an effective contrast to the many green plants, especially when planted in groups. A high light intensity promotes the red coloring of the leaves. It can easily be propagated by planting the head cuttings in the ground. This also gives the mother plant a bushier appearance, as it then forms several new side shoots. Strong lighting and balanced fertilization are required for optimal color development.
