A very nice new cultivar of the Alternanthera reineckii is the 'Red Ruby' variety. The most striking feature is the ruby ​​red venation of the leaves, which differs significantly from the red basic colour. The growth rate is slightly slower than A. reineckii 'Red' and 'Bronze'. With good lighting, this red beauty can also be cultivated in a 30 L cube. In large aquaria, about 15-20 stems should be planted to achieve an impressive group of plants that harmonize best with a "green" neighborhood. In addition to good lighting, an adequate supply of nutrients including CO2 ensures intensive colors.
