A variety of the Cryptocoryne wendtii group is the wendtii 'Compact', a medium-sized, brown-colored Cryptocoryne that grows very well and is easy to care for. Its above water leaves are rusty brown, in the submerged stage the leaves are chocolate brown. Planting tip: Cryptocorynes remain particularly small and compact when they grow in a pot, which can be pressed directly into the substrate. Due to the small volume in the root area, the plants remain smaller - a bonsai effect is created.
