The Red Laser Cory Catfish originally comes from South America, where it is mainly found in rivers and streams with muddy bottom.
Care in the aquarium
This beautifully orange and gold shimmering catfish is a shoal fish that feels comfortable with at least 8 individuals of its own species and grows to about 6 cm in size. In the aquarium, which holds at least 54 - but preferably more - liters, it needs a fine, non-sharp substrate as well as sufficient hiding places in the form of plants and, for example, catfish caves, roots or stones. The Corydoras Red Laser is fairly easy to keep if these needs are met.
Feeding
The Corydoras Red Laser is an omnivore, so it can be fed with a variety of sinking life and frozen food as well as with green food and sinking commercial fish food.
Sexual dimorphism and breeding
The males of the Red Laser Armored Catfish can be recognized by their slender build and a more pointed dorsal fin.
