As the name already suggests, the Variable Hornet Nerite is characterized by different colors and patterns. Although extremely peaceful, the Hornet Nerite is very active. It spends the whole day eating algae. With a maximum size of 2 cm, it is particularly suitable for combating algae in the nano aquarium. Supplementary feeding is usually only necessary if the Hornet Nerite does not have enough algae in the aquarium. Breeding this snail is extremely difficult. The juveniles need brackish water and go through various stages before they can be transferred back to fresh water as a mature snail. |
