Lagenandra meeboldii "Red" is also available in Europe as Lagenandra meeboldii "Pink". The plant originally comes from southern India. Their leaf coloring shows a great play of colors from olive green to purple and pink-red, with young leaves being colored in a light pink. This slow-growing plant is not particularly demanding in terms of care, but the aquarium should be well lit so that it can show off its most beautiful colors and the soil should be rich in nutrients. With its rosette-like growth and broad leaves, the Lagenandra meeboldii resembles a Cryptocoryne. In loose groups or planted individually, the Lagenandra looks particularly great in the middle ground, but thanks to its very slow growth it can also be used as a foreground plant for a long time.
