Aponogeton madagascariensis originally comes from Madagascar and is known for its unique leaves, which have small windows between the leaf veins. There are several forms of this plant, with the typical variant having rather narrow leaves and a balanced trellis structure. This Aponogeton is considered somewhat difficult to care for, because it prefers an adequate supply of nutrients, good water movement, an additional CO2 supply and, last but not least, rather cooler water below 25°C.
