The Tiger Lotus is a water lily that is widespread in Africa. With its reddish to purple colored, mottled leaves, the red color variant of the Tiger Lotus makes a gorgeous specimen plant. Due to its size, it requires a lot of space and should be planted in a sufficiently large aquarium. It is one of the rather easy-care plants, but needs nutrients through the soil and not too weak lighting. So that the Tiger Lotus remains compact and mainly forms submerged leaves instead of floating leaves, petioles that have become too long or leaves that soon reach the water surface should be removed.
