How does the Hobby reverse osmosis water filter work?

First, your tap water is freed from coarse particles such as sand, rust and dirt by a sediment filter. Suspended matter and organic impurities are then reduced or removed via the activated carbon filter. The water is then cleaned almost 100% of all pollutants, odors and flavors through the membrane. As a result, you get water of a hitherto unknown purity. The universal adapter included in the scope of delivery can be connected to any water tap within seconds and without any tools. You can now choose between filtered water (osmosis water) and tap water via a switching mechanism. Thanks to the option, the universal adapter can remain permanently connected to your water tap.

In addition to being particularly easy to use, this model is an absolute space-saving miracle. The entire water filter is hardly larger than a DIN A4 sheet. Thus, the water filter can be used at home and on the go.

The filtration stages:

1st stage: inline sediment filter
The sediment filter with a filter size of 5 microns (corresponds to 5/1000 mm) consists of high-quality polypropylene fleece. The sediment filter has a very high number of open micropores on the entire surface, which enables a particularly effective absorption of impurities. Due to the perfected structure, the sediment filter removes or reduces many particles such as sand, mud, rust particles and mechanical impurities from the tap water. The sediment filter was made from a special polypropylene that is particularly resistant to chemical effects and at the same time prevents the development of microorganisms.
 

2nd stage: Inline activated carbon filter
The activated carbon filter consists of high-quality activated carbon granulate, which has a particularly large-pored surface. Due to the special absorption capacity of the individual granules, the activated carbon filter removes or reduces chlorine particles, odours, flavorings, phenol, benzene and organic impurities from the tap water. The activated carbon filter provides an excellent improvement in taste and visual aesthetics of the filtered water. The activated charcoal filter is also equipped with a polypropylene fleece on the inside, which means that the activated charcoal granules cannot escape.
 

3rd stage: membrane
The membrane consists of a multi-layer laser-perforated polymer film with a microscopic pore size of 0.0001 micron. Regardless of whether it is coliform germs, herbicides, fungicides, asbestos, nitrate, nitrite, uranium, drug residues or simply lime, the TFC membrane removes all pollutants from the tap water with a cleaning effect of up to 100%
