The natural range of this delicate aquarium plant, also known as "Hemianthus glomeratus", is the east coast of North America. There it grows on stony or muddy ground along rivers. With its loose, upright habit and bright light green color, it looks particularly beautiful when planted in groups and cultivated as small bushes. With the help of aquascaping scissors, the plant can be easily shortened, which promotes a more compact and dense growth. The graceful Micranthemum forms a nice contrast with red-leaved species such as Alternanthera.
