Hygrophila pinnatifida is originally from India. It is very versatile and can attach itself very well to hardscape. It forms a compact habit with tall, upright stems and long leaves, which - depending on the light conditions - are colored wine-red to olive-green. The horizontal side shoots like to cling to stones and roots. If the upright shoots and large leaves are cut regularly, Hygrophila pinnatifida can be cultivated as a small epiphyte. In good light conditions, the compact form lasts longer thanks to the moderate growth rate of the plant. In smaller groups with a calm background, growth habit and color are very eye-catching.
