The Least Killifish is a viviparous fish that originated in the United States. With a size of about 3.5 cm, it is already suitable for tanks with a capacity of 54 liters or more. It likes to be kept in a group of at least 10 individuals and needs dense planting as well as shelter and hiding places such as roots, stone structures or caves to feel comfortable and safe. In a community tank, this peaceful fish can be kept very well together with peaceful fish of about the same size. In terms of water parameters, Heterandria formosa adapts very well to a wide range. The temperature of the water should be in the range of 16 - 20°C and the total hardness of the water between 10 and 20 dGH. This omnivorous little creature isn't too choosy when it comes to food either - it eats fine flake and powdered food as well as smaller live and frozen food.
